I love my D200.

Do you miss not having the various scene modes that your D70 had? I
occasionally use them and find them helpful. It's the one thing that's
missing on the D200 that the D80 has. They sort of allow you to be lazy and
still get the job done. I certainly understand why they were omitted from
the D200, but I wish they were there just the same.

Is it a decent camera? Ritz Camera has if for $549 on black friday.

I want to get a lens with a ring flash too (for taking close-up tooth
pictures in the mouth). Anybody know what model number lens that would be?

Two nice micro lens:

http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php...productNr=2160

http://www.nikonusa.com/template.php...productNr=1987

Micro Flash System:

The Nikon camera I would buy today is the D80. Now, if you want a Nikon
D50, let me know, I have one hell of a deal for you, it is in perfect
condition.

Seems like most D50 owners are buying the D80. I just had a D50 given
to me a couple of weeks ago.

I wonder why? :)

The D50 is a great camera, but the D80 is better, but then again so is
the D200 and the D2X

Given to you?? Nice friends!
Those cameras c/w 15-55mm lens still go for close to $800 CDN up here.
I saw one advertized with 2 lenses 18-55 and 55-200mm plus a nice case
all for $1k CDN.

I'm interested if it's still in the box.

Tom, if you're reading, I'm interested in a D50 for the wife.

I'm going to be keeping it actually. I need a kick around camera for
the truck and this is going to be a good replacement for the Oly
C-7070 I have in the truck now which has seen better days.

"Kick around camera"??
You wacky Yanks!

I don't have the box, but I have all the literature.

What else would you call it? I'd rather have a kick around camera to
just keep in the truck than leave my good cameras in the truck for
those "what a picture" scenarios.

For some of us, an $800 camera would be a good 'un.
My idea of a "kick around camera" would be a $150.00 compact.
