Exactly. After getting out of mine, everything else feels "numb".
The feedback through the steering wheel is amazing; the brakes are
unbelievable.

The local PCA club is a bunch of really nice people, and they do an
excellent job of running driver education events at a coupe of local
tracks. If you've never had yours on the track you owe it to yourself
to give it a try. You can't explore the car's potential on the
street... the track is the only place to do it responsibly.

I've heard a lot of good things about the PCA club. One of these days I'll
check into it.

I'm sure you can, but it takes considerable concentration and restraint.
Personally, I rarely get into trouble on the interstate, but 35 in 25s,
that's another story. Does a Porsche drive that slow? Also, I would
think you attract less police attention in the family SUV than in a
Porsche, especially if it's an Arrest-Me-Red Porsche. ;-)

I saw a first today. Coming back from Big Sur, and just after leaving
Monterey, a BMW actually used their turn signal. Shocker. But I guess due
to inexperience by the Bimmer driver. He turned on the left turn signal and
then changed to the right lane.

Real men use the steering wheel, shifter and brakes while going fast.
Just can't do that on the street... pretty much impossible to hit an
apex with the oncoming lanes of traffic and all. :-)

Yep. Cherokees are out. Big, black Suburbans are "in". The soccer moms
all drive 'em the same way ... fast, tailgating, no brakes until the very
last minute and , of course, the cell phone stuck in one ear.

BTW .... what a beautiful day up here today. Calm before the storm or
something. Feels like spring.

Why would you want to hit the tops of cones with a car?

C'mon... get with the program, SW! If you hit the tops of the orange
cones, you can get to the 7-11 in half the time.
