Local Chevy dealer used to tow his show / race vette in a closed trailer with a Supercharged 454 engine in his 3/4 ton truck. Years ago, I towed my 64 Vette race car on an open trailer with my 1964 Chevy SS Impala. Do not think I ever towed over 90, but the car would do 146 mph not towing. |

They were looking at a Vincent Black Shadow and noticed it had a sticker for the long track. I think you had to do 160 on the short track before you got the sticker allowing you to run the long track. Couple more miles of acceleration distance. They watched the bike go through the traps at about 186 mph without the driver. He fell off about a 100 yards from the timer trap. Got up to high and the breeze blew him off the bike. Over 500 cc unstreamlined class. No farings. He survived, bike survived and he rode it later that day. |

MOTORCYCLIST CHARGED AFTER 160 MPH CHASE A central New York man was issued a slew of tickets after State Police clocked him going more than 160 miles an hour on his motorcycle during a chase along an Adirondack road. A state trooper said he spotted 22-year-old Jeremiah Castello of Cassville, near Utica, going nearly 90 miles per hour on Route 28 near Old Forge in Herkimer County on Sunday. Authorities say Castello rocketed his Suzuki GSXR 1300 Hayabusa up to a top speed of 162 miles an hour while being pursued by the trooper. The biker stopped when he got hung up in traffic near Thendara. Castello was charged with reckless driving and operating a motorcycle without the proper license. http://www.wnbz.com/June%202005/062205.htm http://www.insurancejournal.com/comm...00.htm&c=14647 Rob |
