Do I get on your case a lot for making OT political posts. Yeah. Suppose that could be because you do it a lot? What about being fair about it then, Chuck? Be an ass to Tom every time HE posts off topic. It's odd how you pick and choose who to **** on for posting off topic. JohnH can post off topic all day long, not a word said by you. You do have a point though. I should be consistent. I'll try not to let any of your political manure go under the radar in the future. What consistent would be, would be if you **** on EVERYONE'S off topic posts, not just pick and choose. You also need to tune up your own poobah eye a bit. I tossed a bit of flak at one of your favorite posters, who is an arch conservative, just like I did you this morning. I never said that you chose by political persuasion. I don't know how you choose, I only know that you do. Seems as though your buddies can post off topic all day long, nothing said. By the way, I can write 100 lines of stuff appropriate for the NG in about 10 minutes. Don't flatter yourself that I spend any time at it. What is appropriate here? What does all of your above ranting have to do with boats? |

Be an ass to Tom every time HE posts off topic. It's odd how you pick and choose who to **** on for posting off topic. JohnH can post off topic all day long, not a word said by you. I'll type a bit more slowly this time and see if I'm able to communicate my entire thought. There's a difference between Tom's multiple OT posts everyday, (such as "I got stung by a bee") and your cut n pastes of controversial political crap. Some people think we all care what they had for breakfast that morning, and use the NG like a blog. You post stuff here primarily to pick fights, (evidence, once the fight starts you join in with a will and never again refer to the topic you cut and pasted- it becomes all about whether or not you're an asshole, whether or not somebody else might be one, and whether or not your name is Kevin). You're don't seem all that passionately commited to the causes and principles you promote, you're simply adopting progressive positions in order to evoke a reaction from outraged conservatives. Try posting "I bought a new TV remote control this morning!" or some other OT stuff not intended to start a fight and you'll get no more grief from me than do most of the guys posting their local weather reports, the score of the high school football game, or tips on how to change the blade on a John Deere rotary lawn mower. What is appropriate here? What does all of your above ranting have to do with boats? It has to do with the health and welfare of the boating NG. Something you don't give a schlitz about, judging from your consistent actions. Care to compare boating content contributed to the NG in the last 90 days? How about the number of OT political posts, name calling sessions, etc? I thought not. |

Do you need someone to proofread your posts, and edit the subject line for you? I don't. I can damned well choose what I want to read by myself. You may be smart enough to choose what you want to read, all by yourself, but you must be too dam* dumb to know how to navigate to the appropriate newsgroups to post your political nonsense. There is no ruler or poohbah at rec.boats. This is a group organized so people can get together on the net and discuss boats, boating, and boating related topics. Imagine a few guys hanging out at a waterfront coffee shop to discuss boats. Along comes some jerk who jumps into the middle of he conversation and says, "Hey, what do you think about those terrorist-sympathizing, Clinton appointed Democratic judges?" or "Look what the Idiot In Chief wants to do next in Iraq!" Some of the guys gathered to discuss boats would be polite enough to keep their mouths shut and endure the annoying jerk, for at least a while. Others aren't so polite, or so patient. Ask yourself this, as you swoon over your self centered reflection in the nearest available mirror. What is worse? Changing the header on a single topic, or trying to fu*k up the newsgroup? Despite owning some little skiff and going fishing once in a while, you seldom express any interest in boating related topics. You're far more interested in GD'ing George Bush and stirring up political nonsense than in talking boats, so the obvious question is: Why the hell don't you take your political garbage off to some newsgroup or discussion group organized for that purpose? You shouldn't be surprised when boaters get ****ed off at non boaters trying to turn the boating discussion group into a political campaign platform. For either side. But if you keep practicing your outrageous and inconsiderate behavior, don't be surprised when once in a while one of the boaters calls you to task for it. A few others who know darn well who they are can expect the same as well. So, what's worse? Changing the header on a post or raising your middle finger to the basic purposes for which a group has gathered and insisting that you *should* be allowed your daily political rant and name-calling marathons? You life must be one empty place if you have to post ridiculously off topic political stuff to a boating NG just to fill the time. How does it feel to be the annoyed, instead of the one annoying, for a change? Putting killfilters on basskisser and JimH has greatly cut down on the number of original headers I see from them, and I've found I've not missed much. |

Is it so hart to figure out when to find a group that is discussing the topic you want to discuss? If you want politics go to "where the pros are and take them on" So I guess if Chuck wnats to be the Supreme Ruler it is ok with me. As long as he wants to keep things on topic :-) Capt Jack R.. |

If you can chose what you want to read, and you don't like Chuck's post, why don't you chose not read them. I find the silly OT Trolls that are designed to encourage long OT threads where a people engage in name calling and repeating the same political BS very boring. These political and religious trolls discourages boating discussions and chases away boaters that might actually want to discuss boats. I know there are many boaters who enjoy long silly political arguments where no one opinions are changed, but why don't they just subscribe to both rec.boats and a political NG. I for one find the political and religious trolls to be much worse than Chuck comments about the trolls. |

I feel that almost every post Chuck makes to this group is intended to either inform, stimulate, add substance, or protect original intent of this group. You on the other hand mainly make posts to inflame, harass, and destroy the original intent of this group. I also feel that your actions here are a microcosm of the extreme political discourse in this country. In the old days an idiot was an idiot and was treated as such- no matter the political ideology. These days people like you (on the left and right) are tolerated by the intelligent since they are viewed to be "on the same side". It's high time each side put people like you in their place, in politics and in this group. |
