Pssst... Chuck. The term "metrosexual" has been around for quite some
time, and Fox did not coin it. I heard it from my liberal friend who
lives in Atlanta, who heard it from all his liberal friends. He
thinks it's funny, and he *is* metrosexual. And it has nothing to do
with sex or reproduction, either.

Sheesh. Talk about knee-jerk.

Amazing. After hearing any term enough it becomes a standard part of
the vocabulary.

The term has to do with masculinity, and implies that people living in
cities (metro) will be have a different sexuality than those who do
not. (sexual). It expresses the idea that there is a sort of different
sex that is only found in cities. If it was intended to mean something
else, it was poorly coined.

And, of course, you apologize for your brazen attack on Fox News for using
the term, and for your virtually off topic rant about same in the group,
right?

I drive a beat up old truck with 300,000 miles on it and it carries all
my sailing crap. Most people wear flip flops on my boat. When I was
growing up here, us kids all thought that anybody who wore shoes was a
wuss an' if your feet werent tough enough to wade through a patch of
stinging nettles we'd run off and leave you lost in the woods.
Beginning of summer, we'd all toughen out feet by walking as much as we
could on hot asphalt so after a ccouple of weeks we could wade in the
bay and step right on sea urchins and not notice. Today, i am almost
ashamed of my kids wearing shoes all the time.
We dont ahve a Nordstroms here in Wakulla County although there is an
IGA grocery store and flip flops would be considered dressy there. As
an adult I have wimpy feet so I wear my flops a lot instead of being
bare foot and they make a lot of sense. It doesnt amtter if you forget
them in somebody elses boat cuz they cost about a buck.
