Default Complete re-wiring

Can anyone estimate what it would cost me to completely re-wire my 23'
center console? In addition to the outboard and running lights, I have
the usual panel with horn, accessory, live well, water pump, bilge pump,
etc switches. There's also my fish finder, gps, vhf radio, hot tub,
plasma tv and stereo/cd.

What would it cost to do something like this from scratch? I imagine
that's pretty much what I'm proposing.

Thanks for any help.

(only kidding about the tv and hot tub)

Are you talking about YOU doing it, or someone else doing it and then you
pay them?

Harry, why would you disrupt a boating thread to change the subject to
guns?

Have you been banished from the gun group?

Is your CC currently in production? If so, a current production
wiring harness will probably be in the vicinity of $400/500 bucks plus
the labor to install it. New engine harness about the same, Switches
and what not, another $200. Do it yourself, eh, maybe$1,300 or so
depending on the size of the boat, production status, etc. Double
that if you have a mechanic do it.

At to the FF/GPS/Radio, your current wiring is probably fine if you
are running it to a switch panel.

I did a 17' Sport Boston Whaler a couple of years ago - turned it into
a CC with a leaning post. Complete, start to finish with new harness,
etc was about $500. The lights and panel I did myself from a fuse
panel with the radio and what not.

Curious - why are you interested in rewiring?

A combination of frustration at my inability to find the ground wire (I
think) causing my gps to blink in and out while underway, the newest
problem with my depth finder (another wire problem) and my own laziness.
You've done wonders for the laziness problem with this post, as I'm also
cheap. I was hoping for an answer along the lines of, "Oh, probably
around $200 bucks or so." Although, I knew it was a long shot.

Thanks. I'll be getting back to searching for the errant ground wire now.

I was talking about someone else doing it for pay. After reading JSB's
reply, though, I'll be doing a more thorough search for whatever wire is
causing my problems.

Thanks.
