![]() "Shortwave Sportfishing" wrote in message ... I was hired by a dealer to give some instruction to one of his customers who purchased a brandy new Triton 351CC Center Console. Powered by three 225 Merc Verados, I have to admit that I was very impressed by the boat. The Verados not so much. I have come to expect that a center console is a center console is a center console - they are all pretty much set up the same way, same concepts in storage, etc. The designers at Triton have done a good job with the 351CC. Storage isn't at a premium with a decent amount of rod racks along the interior and the T-top/Leaning post allows for more than one fisherman could ever use. The console has plenty of room for electronics and the step down is like a small room. On take off, there is plenty of bow lift. I was surprised at the view over the top of the console on take off - you have a good idea of what's in front. It's not exactly flat on take off, but the lift off is quick providing good visibility. I was not impressed with the Verados, but that may just be by comparison to the E-TEC. To me, they seemed boggy and unresponsive. I kept my mouth closed however - the proud owner was impressed so I guess that's all that counts. We practiced on some docks, did a few high speed runs, trolled around a little and generally the owner was very pleased with his new acquisition. I let him handle the boat the whole way as I set up his electronics, then resetting everything to factory default and had him run through it several times. All in all, a fun day - I really like doing this kind of thing. It's fun. Sounds like a nice time. Did they pass out any free samples? http://www.tritonboats.com/boatImage...eImage_177.jpg |
