Default Need to reset an outboard motor overheat switch?

Anyone know how to reset an (apparent) switch, or even locate it, that
stops me from starting my 1989 Force 150Hp outboard? Appears lake
debris plugged the cooling water inlets; 4 mins after starting motor an
alarm horn went on (never happened before). After shutting off moter,
horn came on with ignition switch so I dis & re-connected battery. Now
no horn sound, but also no power to starter either. I cannot locate a
switch to reset. Any ideas or advice (have no motor manual)
Thanx

I don't know force but most overheat switches reset once they are cool.
Once in a while they will stick after use and they then need to
be replaced.

The switch on most engines can be found by looking for one (or two)
wires going to the block of the engine. (Similar to an oil pressure
sensor except the overheat switch just touches the engine it doesn't
have a tube and usually is held on by a clamp, not screwed in)

Find the sensor and check for continuity Try shorting(connecting two
wires or shorting the one wire for 1 wire types) or opening (removing
one wire) (There are two different types)

Since there is NO power now that is a concern.... Does the voltmeter
show very low voltage when the ignition is on?
