Uh, no you weren't. You didn't even mention ambition.

motivated=ambitious
unmotivated=lacks ambition.
thinking small=lacks ambition=unmotivated

So, if someone is quite happy with say, an 18 foot boat, fits there
needs perfectly, etc, you think they are unmotivated? Amazing.

You still don't get it. Don said "think small"...not "buy a small boat".
To me, the saying "think small" means the opposite of "think big"...and that
translates to a lack of ambition to excel in life.

Oh, damn, some how I KNEW you wouldn't get it. What was the subject
that Don was talking about when he said "think small"? Any idea? It was
about a flippin' BOAT. A BOAT......get it? He wasn't talking about a
house, a car, a bike, a horse, he was talking about A BOAT.

Duh!
You were complaining about acquiring insurance for larger boats and the
cost if you were successful.
My advice really was to consider a *smaller boat* that would be easier &
cheaper to operate, store, insure etc etc.
Up here real men have braved the North Atlantic in the dead of winter,
first in dorys launched from schooners.. and now Cape Islanders (called
lobster boats south of the border).
In other words.. 'half the boat, twice the sailor'.
