She's a lab so swimming is not a problem. Before I spend $30 I just wanted to know what you think if you've done this. I have a virtually non-swimming bulldog mix (after a couple years in the pool he is getting better) We found the best life jacket is the foam type that wraps around the belly and they step into. The ones that strap over the back didn't keep his face out of the water, Since your dog swims you might just need a harness but if you really want bouyancy the "under the belly" model is better and it does cradle them when you are hauling them aboard So far I've only seen the kind that strap under the belly with velcro wraps. I tried that on my dog today and she wouldn't budge; wouldn't sit, come, turn her head, nothing. I don't know what she was thinking, but she sure must not have liked it. Made me think about just harness for my needs, but I know the extra bouyancy of a pfd would keep her from wearing out fast. ** see my link again... http://ca.binnacle.com/product_info....roducts_id=697 |
