I consistently condemned the behavior of a poster who shot arrows into another boat because she felt the music was loud and offensive. That poster and her buddies from some white-supremacy group tried to drag the conversation into a "Gould's a Jew!" and other unenlightened directions. I tried to reference the original wackoid's objectionable boating behavior, not primarily her objectionable philosophies, throughout the thread. Besides, I don't know of a single political group that would (at least openly) claim any of those folks GDing "ghetto dwellers" and "Jews". Do you? The political trolling has died down here, and by a lot. For a while the few remaining guys spoling for a fight seemed to be from the right hand end of the spectrum- but in the last few days we're seeing a resurgence from the moderate and liberal camps. Implying that 54% of the population is dumber than dirt, when the only significant thing associated with 54% is the 4% plurality that gave Bush a second term, is needless. If somebody can point out to me how political crap slinging enhances a group supposed to be organized to discuss boating topics, I'll retire this fricking soap box. :-) There are a lot of NG's where the topic is ignored and people just trade insults and political "talking points" all day. The participants here can choose to go back to the mode we were once in, or not. The reason it's important to apply some peer pressure here and there is that it only takes a few people to change the dynamics of a group like this.....for the better or for the worse. |

You know, that part that notes that the trolling has been more by the moderate and liberal camps the last few days? :-) Neither side is blameless. I read the entire post. To state that 'for a while the few remaining guys spoiling for a fight seemed to be from the right' implies that those from the left were quiet for a time. We both know better. Neither side is blameless. And as long as there are those (from either side) foolish enough to take the bait, I'm sure both sides will be represented. -- ****************************************** ***** Have a Spectacular Day! ***** ****************************************** John |
