I have two Funyaks. Both of them have holes/cracks on the bottom of
the runners. A couple of years ago, I patched them with fiberglass.
They worked for a couple of years but recently one of the patches came
off. Since they are made of polyethelyene the fiberglass doesn't have
a good bond. Does anyone know how to patch these boats? I will
appreciate any suggestions.

You need to find someone that does plastic welding to do a permanent
repair. Alternatively, Harbor Freight sells a plastic welder for ~$30 if
you're feeling adventurous.

Oak Orchard sells a repair kit that states:

THIS IS THE ONLY REPAIR KIT THAT WORKS ON POLYETHYLENE CANOES OR
KAYAKS. (aka: polylink3, crosslink3, triple tough, SP3, RamX, poly,
etc.) If you're not sure what kind of "plastic" your canoe or kayak is
made of you better use this kit to be safe.

I've patched a couple of poly barrels using the melted milk jug trick,
one had a pretty large hole in it, but I got them patched and they have
been holding water for 6 years now.

To me, it looks like hype meant to sell grossly overpriced repair kits.

While it may be overpriced from this vendor, at least the OP now knows
such a kit is available and can try to find it cheaper somewhere else.
It's a start.

Speaking of high prices, I was looking through an NRS catalogue and
they sell a 6 gallon Reliance water container for $14.95, PLUS you have
to also pay an extra $20 for oversize shipping bringing the total to a
whopping $34.95. I bought the exact same container at Crap-Mart for
$8.00.
