Golf takes practice. Amen. It is the most challenging sport I've ever
played. It's all up to the individual, no other players or refs to blame.

And, it's more exercise than walking on water while fishing, which I'm
close to but not yet there!

John

A friend who's been playing for many years gave my son a used set of
clubs, and took him out to play 3 times. The kid's never done anything but
futz around at a driving range, or play miniature golf with an ice cream
cone in one hand, but he shot 88, 84 and 83 in the 3 games! My friend was
flabbergasted. Now, my son wants to take me out so he can humble another
adult. He seems to be a natural.

Kids are flexible flyers and take to golf very naturally. It's us less
flexible, older types that have the problems.
I've tried it. Tried it again. Tried once more. Gave it up for life.

Right now I'm excited at the improvement I see in myself. One thing that
has definitely made the game more interesting is playing on different
courses. I've got the local course to fall back on, but we go to at least
one new course every week. One course, General's Ridge in Manassas, is so
hard that I'll not go back until I'm shooting in the low 90's, which may
not occur until *I'm* in my low 90's!
