I have a copy of the old text (which I think is better than the next one. It is a book course, but it will give you the larger categories of things. Also Annapolis Sailing School has a nice step by step course. I read it. Again not for 10 yo. Teaching is hard work. If you don't have the materials you need you have to make your own. And that means adapting the course for the students. Plus the Annapolis Sailing School has children's courses. I took the beginner course in 1998 when we bought our boat. It was an our in the classroom for each hour on the water. Each group of 4 went out with an instructor and all had to do each skill. So you are saying that you have the learning skills/abilities of a 10 yo? I never did. I was always smarter than a 10 yo. I was suggesting that the book learning part be interspersed with skills and that both parts be short. Failing all else, there is the power squadron. Did the the instructor have a background check to see if he/she is on a sex ofender list? What does this have to do with anything? The instructor is going to be the dad who is having the kids over to his place. Hey granny, I can see why you're not a tacher any more. You shure did not impress me with you teachun know how. bob I wasn't trying to impress you - fortunately. |
