My wife calls me downstairs at about 9:30 this morning to find our basement flooded. The sump pump died and we had torrential rain all night. Our basement is finished and all the carpeting and baseboards are lost, perhaps even the lower course of drywall. Well I just got done installing a new 3/4 hp 4,800 gph unit and I have to wait to let it do it's job. More rain is on the way. What a wonderful holiday weekend. What a great vacation. What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!! PIZZA!!!! Sounds like a good excuse to stuff yourself with a good thin crust pepperoni pizza. We were to be at a picnic at my sisters house and eating ribs for dinner. We had nothing planned so my wife cooked up that traditional American 4th of July dinner.......spaghetti and meatballs. ;-) A wise old fire chief once told me that life is nothing more than a series of problems to be solved. It seems that way at times. This was after a day when one of our long time members committed suicide followed by a chimney fire followed by another chimney fire followed by a fully involved house fire mixed in with two car accidents and three medical calls. And I was OOD for the Department that day. :) Not a good day. |
