Default I don't know if I can take much more.....

And yes, it CAN be worse. I did have a great day taking my sone, wife
and three grandkids boating today, and swimming on a sandy beach in a
colve of Carlyle lake. Kids getting cranky it's time to come home. we
got out of the loading ramp, just in time to see a really nice Lowe
24ft. pontoon boat suffering the degredation of being pulled in by a
couple of jet ski's ( I give them fits, but they DID come to the guys
rescue)

The boat was origionally equipped with a 40 horse "something" which
wasn't enough, so the guy had just mounted a brand new Mariner 115 on
it, and this was the engines second voyage. Needless to say, the much
wo light and over stressed transom gave way, The engine was all but
submerged, being held on by some weak transom bolts and the control
cables. BTW, when the engine let loose, engine and transom broke loose
on the left side and the engine flopped over to the left as well, and
before the engine went under the drink, his prop caught, and nicked a
small but healthy gash in the rear of the right pontoon.

I'm glad I didn't have his problems.......

Jim, just be glad you were home to catch the basement flood. if you
had been gone w/a faulty sump pump, and more wather coming in, you
could have lost a heck of a lot mroe than just carpet and some dry
wall. 20 years ago I was in the same situation, only it rained for
about three days, and when I got home, the basement had 3 feet of water
in it.

And it kept raining. I waded through and set a sump pump up and
anchored it with some cement blocks, ran the outlet tube out through a
basement window, and ran an extension chord to an outlet in the garage,
I wasn't going to plug it in while standing in water! That pump ran for
a good two days, and cycled every 10 minutes for the next three.

EVERYTHING in thebasement was lost. 19" color TV, washer , dryer, pool
table, some of my wifes antiques, complete with ancient ceramic doll
collection... gone.

There is one, so if you can look on the bright side.

First the episode with the ignition switch on my son's car...$650

Next the boat engine overheats and who knows what that will cost.

My wife calls me downstairs at about 9:30 this morning to find our basement
flooded. The sump pump died and we had torrential rain all night. Our
basement is finished and all the carpeting and baseboards are lost, perhaps
even the lower course of drywall.

Well I just got done installing a new 3/4 hp 4,800 gph unit and I have to
wait to let it do it's job. More rain is on the way.

What a wonderful holiday weekend. What a great vacation.

What's next Lord? Come on......what's next!!
