Knowing that my boat trailer plates expire tomorrow, I went to the
license facility to get them renewed. the typical $18.00 per year fee. The guy behind the counter said. "Tim I have good news and bad news for you" ""Huh?" "Yeah, they dropped the fee a buck to $17.00...but they also are up for renewal next April" "WHAT??" The grand State of ILL. thinks that it's too much of a rush to have ALL "T/A" plates due at the same time, so they want to kick them back to April to give our poor and over worked in the State License Dept. some more spread to handle the overflow of license processing. So! they dropped back a buck and short changed everbody with "T/A" plates a couple months. When you consider everything involved, they should have discounted approx. $3.00, but not so is the case. I didn't ask if plates were going to be for a full year as usual? Or, if they're only going to be good for only 10 mo. instead??? So! it looks to me like they are finding a new way to generate a few more million in coin, to feed the state coffers, just to find more ways to spend more than they are taking in. Not much suprises me anymore. It seems like dealing with the State of Sickinois, people say remarks like "at least they could provide their own Vaseline..." I usually return with something like "What do you need Vaseline for, when you're going to get the *barbed-wire wrapped around a broom handle* treatment?" grrrrr! |
