I planned to leave yesterday to go home to do a few chores, but I rode the bike down here and it's been down-pouring all weekend. I keep looking at the local radar for this area, looking for a break in the rain/Tstorm bands where I could make a run for it. No significant breaks yet. Might have to suck it up, put on the rain slicker hanging in the closet and go for a wet, 45 mile ride. Eisboch www.eisboch.com It'll be a good test of the raingear. Go for it. Think of me when that first trickle starts down your back or your trousers. Good luck! Made it home fine, although it poured all the way. I wore the yellow rain gear I had on the boat (trousers with the bib and suspenders and the jacket) and was perfectly dry. Only problem was slow moving traffic going over the Sagamore Bridge (Cape Cod Canal). I didn't realize until I got home that one leg of the rubberized trousers was in contact with one of the exhaust pipes every time I had to put my foot down. The rest of the ride was 55-60 mph in torrential downpours. Tomorrow's project is to scrape off all the yellow rubber stuck on the pipes. Eisboch www.eisboch.com |
