Aren't there are a bunch of Bush Support groups where you can and should go to high five with folks like-minded folks who have gathered together for that specific purpose? If you have the freedom to post your very regular off topic and incendiary threads here, John H certainly has the right to comment about it. He doesn't have to own the group, and he doesn't act like he does. And he is absolutely right- you are off topic. He has usenet etiquette supporting his side of the argument. What do you have, except "I can post Off Topic if I want to simply because you can't physically stop me!"? I'm not sorry to see the ******* dead. I might even have plenty to say about it. But I'm not going to say it in an improper forum where the comments would be unwelcome, inappropriate, and miles and miles and miles OT. |

A dead terrorist hell bent on killing you and your family is a good thing, despite ones political affiliation. ;-) As a discussion point, MSNBC has run an online poll...out of 150,000 responses 44% think it will have no impact whatsoever on terror or the insurgency 30% say it is a very small setback for terrorism or the insurgency 26% think it is a large blow to the insurgency and terror In my view, the guy had to be removed, but without question, violence begets violence. There is, also without question, an invigoration of anti U.S. sentiment around the world, and this guy was just an ant in an ant hill. Then again, I picked this up from another board from a guy I know who IS stationed in Baghdad as we speak: ".....Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm on the ground here in Baghdad. No one is taking credit unilaterally. It was truly a team effort, from the brave Iraqi citizens who called in tips, to Iraqi and Coalition forces who actually carried out the operation. We can all argue about whether Zarqawi will be replaced - there will probably be another intolerant, ignorant, and totally implacable individual who will replace him. However, there is no doubt that removing this "I can't clear a stoppage in a SAW" individual from the gene pool is a win not only for Iraqis, but for all civilized people around the world. From where I sit, this is a good thing for mankind. Zarqawi and others of his ilk don't care about you, me, or anyone else who doesn't ascribe to their view of the world. If you don't agree with them, they'd just as soon shoot you as talk to you - make no mistake. You cannot negotiate with them nor reason with them. The only thing they understand is violence. And by violence they have met and will meet their end. My two cents, Alan in Baghdad " |
