No so fast, JimH. You show up here with a pro-war troll titled Yay-hoo
and rave on like the
Iraqi's just held another purple finger election or something? John H
is right. You're way off topic. Aren't there are a bunch of Bush
Support groups where you can and should go to high five with folks
like-minded folks who have gathered together for that specific purpose?

If you have the freedom to post your very regular off topic and
incendiary threads here, John H certainly has the right to comment
about it. He doesn't have to own the group, and he doesn't act like he
does. And he is absolutely right- you are off topic. He has usenet
etiquette supporting his side of the argument. What do you have, except
"I can post Off Topic if I want to simply because you can't physically
stop me!"?

I'm not sorry to see the ******* dead. I might even have plenty to say
about it. But I'm not going to say it in an improper forum where the
comments would be unwelcome, inappropriate, and miles and miles and
miles OT.

Because the "cure" may turn out to be much worse than the "disease".

As a discussion point, MSNBC has run an online poll...out of 150,000
responses

44% think it will have no impact whatsoever on terror or the insurgency

30% say it is a very small setback for terrorism or the insurgency

26% think it is a large blow to the insurgency and terror

In my view, the guy had to be removed, but without question, violence
begets violence.

There is, also without question, an invigoration of anti U.S. sentiment
around the world, and this guy was just an ant in an ant hill.

Then again, I picked this up from another board from a guy I know who
IS stationed in Baghdad as we speak:

".....Nothing could be further from the truth. I'm on the ground here
in Baghdad. No one is taking credit unilaterally. It was truly a team
effort, from the brave Iraqi citizens who called in tips, to Iraqi and
Coalition forces who actually carried out the operation.

We can all argue about whether Zarqawi will be replaced - there will
probably be another intolerant, ignorant, and totally implacable
individual who will replace him. However, there is no doubt that
removing this "I can't clear a stoppage in a SAW" individual from the
gene pool is a win not only for Iraqis, but for all civilized people
around the world.

From where I sit, this is a good thing for mankind. Zarqawi and others

of his ilk don't care about you, me, or anyone else who doesn't ascribe
to their view of the world. If you don't agree with them, they'd just
as soon shoot you as talk to you - make no mistake. You cannot
negotiate with them nor reason with them. The only thing they
understand is violence. And by violence they have met and will meet
their end.

My two cents,

Alan in Baghdad "

What a major hit!!!

OT or not, this is terrific news for everyone, boaters included. ;-)

Every time we wave the "Mission Accomplished" banner we find out that we
shouldn't be yelling "YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!" quite so loudly.

Remind me again where I said or referenced anything about "mission
accomplished"?

Can you not enjoy the moment Jim and keep the politics out of this?

There was no reference to politics.

No, I cannot "enjoy the moment", what is there to enjoy?

An evil man was killed, along with many thousands of innocent people.
Tomorrow will be a violent one. Many will die violent deaths, both the
guilty and the innocent.

I find it all hard to "enjoy."

See ya'!

Let's see...this death was on the news at least by 6 o'clock AM yesterday,
and was repeated at least every ten minutes throughout the day. Sometime
yesterday evening, Mys terry quotes JimH's post which had just been made.
The post was OT, about an inflammatory subject, and self-guaranteed to
quickly become a political flamefest, which it did.

Now you are being castigated for not keeping 'politics' out of a
politically oriented post. Surely the post was meant to be much more than
informative, unless the OP thought every one had been in a cocoon all day.

sigh

No matter how you want to spin it my post was not politically motivated and
had nothing to do with politics.

However, you and others choice to make it so.

Do you have anything to offer here besides netcopping, negative posts and
recipe postings John?

......apparently, he survived the
blast, and was semi-conscious when the authorities arrived. Pretty
amazing when considering the rubble.

And considering the size and impact of the blasts. The military video
showing on the web is impressive but not very clear. I fisrt thought that
the safe house was surrounded by numerous other houses or buildings, many of
which appeared to be severely impacted by the blast. But that is not at all
the case. The safe house is (was) remote, out along a road in an area that
appears to be orchard or managed forest of some sort. You can see it on
Google Earth at N33 48 03 E44 30 48. The military video is a view looking
southward.
