Does anyone in the United Kingdom know where I could pick up a second
hand mercruiser 120 cylinder head or a head from a chevvy 153ci engine?

I would suspect that you could pick up a head over the internet,
possibly Ebay. But beware, it's not uncommon for marine heads to have
differant (larger) valves installed (possibly differant valve springs
as well) compared to automotive heads. If so you'll have to have them
changed.
