But if you really want to talk about what to do about gas prices and
the environment and you want to do it today, why don't you mention
stuff like butanol. There are new ways to make it, it's 100%
interchangable with gasoline, has a lower evaporative factor than
gasoline or ethanol, produces only CO2 (green CO2) and water from
combustion, will run in a gasoline engine with no modifications, has
higher octane than most gasoline (108), can be produced from surplus
crops and with the new compound fermentation process, can easily be
produced for about $1.03/gallon.

Let's focus on a viable alternative and forget the political posturing,
huh?

Harry, I agree that gas prices and availability are significant boat-related
issues. What's more interesting to me than bush-bashing is the idea of a
hydrogen-dependent economy and how to convert gas and diesel powered boats
to hydrogen powered boats when the time comes (if ever).

I also wonder at what point the price of gas will make an alternative fuel
such as hydrogen and conversion of our infrastructure financially feasable.

I also wonder if hydrogen is feasable mechanically and if it is truly
renewable.

I wonder if lack of demand can actually affect fuel prices. I mean, I keep
hearing that prices are rising because of higher demand from China. And, in
theory, Americans would prefer that prices be lower. I think I'm right about
that, but I could be wrong. Somebody let me know if I'm wrong about that,
OK?

So, if we'd like prices to be lower, I wonder why so many people are doing
the exact opposite of what it takes to make that happen.

Many who complain about high unemployment support paying those who don't

Such illogic abounds.

I'm not sure we can make a dent in demand anymore. I might be wrong, but I
think the demand for oil in China (if that is a true assertion) will
outstrip any decreased demand in the U.S. My take is that we need a fuel
source that we can make in the U.S. from U.S. resources owned by U.S.

I find that attitude disturbing. In effect, you're saying that Americans

interesting, though, is that nobody's asked us to do anything different.

I do not choose to serve, for I did not make the suggestion that such an
authority, presumably with punitive powers, be created. Please try again.

I suggest that you serve as your own best advisor, and you choose not to?
What's left? Mommy and Daddy? God? A dog who talks to you in private
moments? A ouja board & tarot cards? You're not accustomed to the idea of
making better decisions for yourself, because there has never been a leader
who has asked you to do it. Kennedy suggested it when he said "And so, my
fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can
do for your country."

Eventually, people will stop
believing this next personal rule:

This has little relevance to your proposal to ban certain vehicles. Why
do you wish to do so, and how logistically do you propose to execute your
plan?

I have no wish to ban certain vehicles. You and a few others here like to
read that into my statements. I want to see consumers bring the numbers of
certain vehicles back down to a level which reflects the actual need for
them. I'll play Kennedy here and assume that you can analyze that statement
using your head instead of your genitals.

This is irresistible:

You go to your doctor for a checkup. He does the usual routine, and tells
you that your liver is enlarged. He asks how much booze you consume. Then,
he says this:

What does he mean by that? What is your interpretation of that last

Check a previous post of his. He said he stocked shelves at a grocery
store. What the big deal about that Bassy? Are you inferring that
you find
that work demeaning in some way?

Uh, you, once again are making false statements and allegations with no

He already has.

You never heard me say that.

My apologies then. I really thought that is what you said you do for a

You're right, he's gone off the deep end again. Now he'll start his
lies, misquotes, ennuendo, etc. all over again. You know his M.O.,
he'll ask a question in such a way as to make it seem to others that
read it, that he has some knowledge of fact, when in fact it's just hot
air. Oh, well, it was good when it was good. Sorry to see him back to
his old ways.

Actually it seems you are back to your old ways Kevin. I made a statement
that I thought was correct. Doug once said, if I remember correctly, in a
joking way that he was an inventory control specialist. I took it as being
as stockboy as did everyone else. He never stated otherwise to the stockboy
replies.

It really does not matter though. If I made a mistake, fine....I
apologized. Regardless lets drop it already.

No. Only YOU took it seriously, after you created the fiction. Everyone else
understood it as humor, which is why nobody else repeated it.

BTW: I recall several referring to your title as a fancy name for stockboy.

There's no need to apologize. Without stockboys, you'd be eating roadkill.
However, you and others mentioned the job in a rather demeaning way. Perhaps
you should apologize to a stockboy next time you're in the supermarket.

I never made a demeaning remark about being a stockboy. If it provides a
living for you and you like doing it then that is all that counts.
