His son is going to Europe on a school trip. And travel is supposed to
broaden your horizons. His mind is made up that the global warming is man
caused. Will not consider that the earth is always heating and cooling and
it may be mother nature and not just man. Why is Mars also warming at the
same time? Mars Rovers?

Which statements? Yes, we do, in fact know that there is cyclic warming
and cooling. And yes, it doesn't mean that man hasn't (or has for that
matter) had a profound influence on that warming. If there are equally
qualified opposite statements to the contrary, I'd like to see them!
I've not heard of one bit of compelling data that would make one come
to the conclusion that CFC's and other chemicals aren't having any
influence at all on ozone depletion, and hence global warming.

There is. At least one study has shown nicotine to have anti-psycotic
effects. It has been observed for a long time that many mentally ill
people chain-smoke. This study showed that it is a form of self-medication.

However, you won't find this study quoted or touted very much. We
aren't supposed to find anything GOOD about tobacco. You will find that
most studies of climatology similarly vanish if they do not tow the
global warming line.

How do you know it is happening at a faster or slower pace? The Wooly
Mammoths were flash frozen a while back. Had to be a fast change in
temperature with high winds associated with the temperature change.

Actually, I haven't heard many scientists saying that at all. But, that
