On cars with rear drum brakes, the larger shoe is in the front...

No, the larger shoe always goes towards the back.

the front brake actuates the rear brake. Causing more force to be appled to
the brake. therefore the large shoe on the back.

Please explain HOW there is "more force" applied to the secondary
shoe??? The PRIMARY shoe, which is the front, is largest.

The rotation of the wheel carries the front one top to the front, and bottom
to the back. The rear brake, being anchored at the top, is wedged against
the drum with extra force applied by the front shoe to the bottom of the
rear brake.

Before you make such an outlandish statement, please show proof that Kevin
doesn't always drive his jeep in reverse.

Just to be sure I have things right...

In this picture...does anyone know for sure if this is a picture of a
left hand or a right hand freebacking brake assembly?

Thanks,

John C.

As it is set up, left, but it could be either.

Thanks,
I thought so but the picture was labeled as right from the website I
d/loaded it from .... it had me second guessing.
