That's the problem with voice recognition software. You obviously
wanted to post this political bull guano to the "voting" newsgroup- and
darned if you weren't tripped up by technology and you landed in the
"boating" newsgroup instead. Until they come out with a downloadable
patch to fix you program, you'll simply have to enunciate very clearly.

No mistake on my part Chuckie! Besides I like the fact that you blast me
for
political posts but you refrain from doing so to others. Keep up the
double
standard.

There's some truth to your statement, but it *would* be nice if everyone
stopped the political crap!

Back on your bandwagon again Sheriff. I seem to recall you deeply involved
in several political threads over the past few days.

Your act is getting old.

Ah, have you found something 'political' I've posted? Or, are you
pretending that any comment about ports is a political comment.

Sorry if trying to keep the flames out is offensive to you.

Yes again.

The sheriffing aspect is offensive John. And I am not the only one who
feels that way.

I got a particular kick out of Justice Kennedy's concern about the
convoluted districts.

"....Kennedy said the result was an odd-looking map that mixed voters of
very different backgrounds..."

If that is of serious concern to Justice Kennedy, he ought to take a
moment to look at the Massachusetts district map, which is the result of
fifty years or more of unabated, unrestricted jockeying on the part of
the overwhelmingly Democrat state legislature, the sole aim of which has
been to solidify the nest of those in power and to throw those who don't
play ball off the boat [nautical connection]. The districts are all
gerrymandered to death, but pay special attention to the smooth, cohesive
boundary and shape of the Mass 4th District, seat of the Hon. Barney
Frank.

I got redistricted out of a majority conservative disctrict and now I am an
in a majority liberal district. It was done to get one particular Republican
out of her congressional seat.

Why not let the chips fall as they will? Districts should be drawn along
established state, county or city lines.

Everything is Gerrymandering.

Re-districting is one of the political spoils. Whichever party holds a
majority in the respective legislature is in the drivers seat every ten
years. This just proves that getting out and voting is very important. Also,
the legislature has the constitutional requirement to redraw the districts
and the judiciary should keep its nose out. If the people don't like the new
districts then they have a course to remedy the problem.
