I received my license plate for my trailer. There aren't any month and year
tags with it like we get for our cars and trucks. Does the boat trailer
need tags on the plate or just the plate? I sure don't want to deal with
the DMV to get new tags!

Perhaps you paid for permanent tags? In Virginia, permanent tags are pretty
cheap ($52), and it's easy to forget you paid a few extra bucks.

They are "Permanent" trailer plates. But in 5 years, you have to pony up
the money again. Still the 20 bucks for 5 years sures beats what I was
paying. Only in California is permanent == 5 years.
