Thanks for the welcome and advice... I'll give it a go close to the coast and maybe take it down to spain for the summer...see how it goes and maybe upgrade next summer.... Is there essentials i need? I've got the anchor...would i need a radio?? i sound like a right idiot!!! Don't know your regulations over there...but here you would be expected to have certain minimal safety equipment...such as PFDs, heaving line, bailer, whistle or horn and a light if out at night. Check out your local requirements. I'd recommend a half decent VHF radio and at least a hand bearing compass in case fog rolls in.. I looked at a google map and it appears that the island is only five miles off the coast, and inside the channel. If the weather report is for a fine day, I'd try it. |
