Paul,
This is a calm water boat made for lakes or very protected water. On a very
calm day, you could safely use this boat at sea, but too many times
"unexpected" storms can get very severe before you can get home or into a
protected cove.

My understanding is the weather in the English Channel can change very
quickly. If the wind picked up and was coming from the east over the
English Channel, it would get very nasty. It would not take much to get
green water coming on board that boat.
