My outboard started to act strange...stalls, sudden death, poor idle.

Question, would running such a high concentration of gumout ruin any
components? These small little cans are made to mix with up to 21

six gallons) to see if it clears or cleans up the problem before taking
it to the mechanic. Do the expert mechanics on this forum think it's

not just mix 1/3 of the can of gumout with 6 gallons of gas?

Good question! I'm thinking along the line more is better. That's
what I'm really trying to figure out. It'll take me a loooonnnggg time
to burn 21 gallons.

I hate to ask the obvious.... but, have you checked/serviced the fuel
filter?

Something else you may wish to try is to spray carb cleaner into the intake
while the engine is running. that, combined with carb cleaner in the fuel
could do a lot for dirty carbs.
