Eyewitness: "I Never Heard the Word 'Bomb'"
"Harry Krause" wrote in message ... What? You don't believe that: 1. Jonah was swallowed by a whale? 2. Moses parted the Red Sea? 3. Jesus wanted to convert the pagans to a religion not yet invented? For shame. You mean to tell me that it's true!!!!!! Well, I thought they were myths printed in that book of tall tales. Jim C. |

JimC,
I think you missed the point, maybe intentionally, maybe not. I don't think any Christians believe Dec. 25th is the actual day Christ was born. They believe they are using that day to celebrate his birth, not that it is his actual birthday. "Jim Carter" wrote in message ... "Lord Reginald Smithers" Ask me about my driveway leading up to my manor. wrote in message . .. JimC, Why is the fact that Dec. 25th is not the actual birthday of JC matter? I don't think anyone really thinks 12/25 is his birthday, they use that annual date to celebrate his birth. It is very common among parents who adopted children from overseas, to designate a date to celebrate the child's birthday. They know it is not the actual date, but it allows them to celebrate their child's birthday. Why is this so hard to understand? You don't have to convince me of that fact! I fully understand the myth of it. Tell that to the fans of Christmas in this group. I am not one of them. I am not a Christian. Jim C. |

It's all true. Especially the last. Actually, it was Paul who allegedly wanted to convert the pagans to Judaism. Jesus wasn't interested in pagans, which is one of the great ironies of "Christianity." -- How appropriate........... Twiddledeedee and Twiddledeedum mocking the Bible and Christians on a Sunday morning. |

No, Lord Smithers, I didn't miss the point at all. There are many Christians believe the bible, word for word and they still think the Jesus Christ was born on Christmas Day. These Christians then want to make the whole rest of the world believe it also. I just don't believe it. You can believe what you want to believe in, birthday or not, just don't try to force it on others, in your country, that do not share your belief. Remember, your country is the one that is supposed to be free. Jim C. |

Thanks JimH, but I would have thought that you would have called it inappropriate. Thanks for agreeing with me that the bible is a book of myths. By the way, shouldn't a good Christian, like you, be at your church on this Sunday morning? Jim C. |

Really? What a revelation. So remind me again where I said that Jesus was involved in the origins of Christianity Harry. |

JimC,
Even if the bible is not an accurate record of historical events, don't you agree that the principles taught in the new testament are those that are good for society and individuals?
