![]() "Lord Reginald Smithers" Ask me about my driveway leading up to my manor. wrote in message ... JimC, CBC disagrees with you about Canadian Private Healthcare. http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/he...s_private.html Thank you Lord Smithers for the article from CBC. I did read this and I can, perhaps, change my perception of what is "private". It is really a misnomer. It is "extra" that I pay for the insurance to get a little bit better treatment as far as the rooms, and certain services that are not covered by the government. Some things not covered for most people are eyeglasses and dental treatment. The government believes that if you can afford to pay for certain services, then the government will not cover it for you. Poor people get 100% coverage. What I take as "Private" Health care is when you don't have to wait for services. This is technically illegal in Canada. Certain clinics were "grandfathered" into the system but no new ones are allowed. The one thing that we have here in Canada is the treatment for our veterans. There treatment is like "Royal" treatment. My Dad gets anything he needs for free and it's delivered to his house. If he needs to go to the doctors office. He can take a wheelchair bus and it is free, door to door. I hope I have explained it to you OK. I am not a very good writer. Jim C. |
