Hang on a minute, Scupper. I thought you right wing fags believe in personal
responsibility. It sure seems that way when you're slamming the welfare

That's because righties are lemmings, lefties are not. A right winger

left winger would use their brains, and know that some of the foreign

70k miles is nothing. Also, I know there are exceptions to the rule, so
to speak. But, if you'll go somewhere like kelly blue book, or J.D.

numbers, etc., you'll find that in most catagories, Japanese cars fair
much better than U.S. built vehicles.

GM's idea of design of course is to add a few new styling swoops and a
more impressive grill. The theory is that if they can get your visual
adrenaline going, no one will care what's underneath.

You have a point. Last time I looked, health care costs were very close
to 15% GDP. The rest of the industrialized world is around 10% and under.
That is a major anti-competitive cost.

I'll try and find the article I read about a month ago, which indicated that
Ford & GM had an ancient deal with the unions which involved paying workers
to sit around and do nothing. The deal continues, and I'm not kidding.

Krause purchased a Toyota Tundra. I am sure he is completely
responsible
for those 30,000 employees losing their job.
He should be ashamed of himself.
Then bottom line, he and his ilk *are* responsible for those lost
jobs.
Hang on a minute, Scupper. I thought you right wing fags believe in
personal
responsibility. It sure seems that way when you're slamming the
welfare
system. But now, GM gets a pass because not enough customers want
their
cars?
It's more a red state blue state thingy. Real Americans live in red
states, buy GM or Ford, and support their country. Them leftists
living
in blue states allowed to drive make payments on foreign tinkle toys.
Bottom line...the Looney Left does not support their country or
traditional American values. They weaken American at every turn.

That's because righties are lemmings, lefties are not. A right winger
would buy American no matter what, because they're told to do so. A
left winger would use their brains, and know that some of the foreign
models are more dependable, and better equipped for less money.
And then bitch about the jobs going overseas.

My Tacoma was built in California. IIRC, the engine block came from
Japan, but Toyota does that to protect my job. It guarantees that the
vehicle will get me to work many more times than another brand.

I recall reading several years ago that Toyota was planning to manufacture
some of its truck engines in the USA, too, but I haven't followed that
story, so I have no idea whether it took place.

Some of us realize that if the US had a decent program of national health
insurance and pension programs, as most other modern nations do, our
manufacturers would be more competitive.

A friend works for a maker of CDC machining equipment. He and his team are
responsible for programming the things after they're delivered and
installed. He tells me that Toyota and the American makers use many of the
same machines, but the Americans request looser tolerances, particularly for
engine blocks. They take this a step further by rejecting fewer marginal
parts.

His company has Japanese engineerng students on board for internships. When
they see how the Americans fail to take advantage of equipment that's
capable of producing far more accuracy, they scratch their heads and
wonder.....

Harry doesn't realize that someone has to pay for the healthcare coverage.
The cost of healthcare for auto makers will be no less under their current
plan, than a national healthcare plan. It probably would be more under a
national healthcare plan.

Bert,
I have always changed my oil every 3-4,000 miles. Since an oil change is so
cheap $14-$20 why extend the oil change to 5-10M miles?

I guess I'm just confused: I own a Ford Truck made in UhMurkuh and a
Toyota made god knows where and a Sea Ray again made in UhMurkuh.

In 200,000 miles I've had fewer problems with the Toyota than I've had
with my truck in 50,000 miles.

I wouldn't trade my truck for anything, except another truck, but damn I
wish my Ford had fewer problems.

I buy American when I can, but not to the extent of buying a lesser
product just to prove I'm red white and blue through and through.

My heart goes out to anyone that loses a job. And there's no politics in
that.

I've got 70,000+ miles on a 2001 F150 SuperCrew with the 5.4L V8 and I
have had zero problems. I just get the oil changed every 5 to 10 thousand
miles and I've replaced the tires once.

70k miles is nothing. Also, I know there are exceptions to the rule, so
to speak. But, if you'll go somewhere like kelly blue book, or J.D.
Powers, etc. and look at owner satisfaction numbers, repair frequency
numbers, etc., you'll find that in most catagories, Japanese cars fair
much better than U.S. built vehicles.

Care to point me to a Japanese vechicle rated to tow a 15,000 lb fifth wheel
and I'll consider it.

I say the amount of money you will spend on fuel towing a 15,000 lbs fifth
wheel, you are better off sleeping in a fancy hotel.
