Default Rename of this newsgroup ?

Over the last few months have seen the % of threads about boats
reduced, lots of crap about American politics, and lately Spaghetti,
Sour dough, Parmesan chicken, Chilli recipes and today WiFi.

How about renaming this group rec.anything-but-boats ?

To be totally off topic, and way off the mark thought I would ask a
boat question - just winterised my boat, and put a breathable cover
over it in dry storage.
Thought that a lower power dehumidifier would be a good thing to have
under that cover, anybody any experience of such things ?

No experience but good sense would suggest that you remove the cover.
Mildew grows wheaver moisture is and the heat of your cover although
breathe able will hold heat in and feed the spores,

I've heard of people putting kitty litter in the cabin. Is that what
you mean by low powered?
Ventilation is usually the key.

I've never been able to use one, but if I had the capability, I'd think it a
good idea.

Because the boat is in a large storage warehouse - I have to keep the
cover on ... when the boat is outside my house during Summer I use a
standard cover, the one on now is a purpose bought breathable cover ...
the manufacturer state it to be fully breathable ... i.e. no
condensation.

I have seen a couple of pictures in magazines of boats & classic cars
which are kept under covers and they have electric dehumidifers,
wondered if anyone knew of such units ... would need to be small not
household size.

I was thinking about this. Problem is that USENET community is shrinking. So
I think the trend is to have less newsgroups and more topics about anything.

Hi Rick,

I think there are a few boat guys left here.

There should be a news group named REC.OT
