Since you are expressing your opinion on Skipper's boat ownership and
experience. Do you believe Harry actually owns this infamous Lobster Boat,
who the only person who ever saw the boat was a new poster who was using
Harry's IP, and disappeared as soon as someone pointed out Harry's sock
puppet.

Since you question Skipper's salt water experience, don't you also question
Harry's claim to have sailed the "Cape" (Horn) a number of times?

incident where somebody surfing the web came across an advertisement
for a 22-foot boat for sale in Derby, KS that matched the description
that Skipper had shared with the NG. When asked, Skipper admitted that
he was selling his boat (had something to do with a case of bad
knees....on Skipper, not under the deck.......and low expectations for
being able to boat again, if I recall correctly, but that has been
several years ago....).

My foggy recollection of Skipper's boating knowledge seems to be that
he was very well read on the subject but lacked practical experience.
You could see how little tidbits of
one school of thought and those of another would get jumbled up into a
weird third (pretty unworkable) compromise......the sort of thing that
sets one off on a multi-year quest for the "perfect" boat, all the
while still unsure, (he claims) even whether he wants to go with power
or sail. Given the oportunity, (hard to find in KS), Dave might have
been able to vet the confilicting theories with some actual experience.

My impression is that Skipper has gone charter fishing (on boats owned
by others) down in the Gulf of California a few times or more. You may
recall a post where somebody found a photo of Dave Mann on a charter
boat operator's web site. It is from these experiences that he claims
extensive expertise regarding boating in the Sea of Cortez.

I doubt the 22-footer ever saw any sal****er, stories of braving 20-30
foot breaking waves down in Mexico with the little runabout
notwithstanding. In the latest version of the truth, I believe he now
claims he braved that "Torito" on a sailboat. Confuses heck out of me-
I can't figure out where you'd mount the mast on that runabout he used
to own, or why one would carry a collection of portable gas cans to
extend the range of a sailing vessel; and he previously insisted he
survived that storm in his Bayliner......oh well.
