Maybe you should hire one as a dental assistant.

Or at least start her off as a receptionist....then if she's willing,
provide support to help her advance.

Oddly, most receptionists start off as dental assistants and choose to

move
to the front office...not the other way around.

That is true of my denist's office.

I have to pay my assistant more than my front office. Assistants are in
higher demand.

And the conservative college professors?

NOBBY wrote:

I see... in NOBBY-World, only conservative college professors have ever
held jobs outside academia, and children of Republicans always grow up to
be conservatives...

Wait a minute, wasn't it you that pointed out something about Darwin and
pangenesis?
;)

The best instructors at the dental school also held part-time faculty
practices.

I think that's true in any field. Certainly in engineering & medicine. And
yet, somehow about 99% of the engineering profs I currently know are
pretty strongly anti-Bush/Cheney. Does that make them "sheltered
liberals"?

That is more a matter of demographics than anything else. The engineering
profs that I knew were almost all Republican conservatives. Of course, my
school (Purdue) was in the reddest of towns in the reddest of states.

Teaching is a noble profession. But at the college level, a good teacher
needs real world experience to truly be effective.

Agreed, and IMHO experience in the field is necessary for anything above
the grammar school level.

BTW please read the current Jane Bryan Quinn column about the housing
market. She's right on the money.

My denitst's front office people were once his assistants.......I think they
made the move when they got married / had kids......he was more flexible WRT
time off etc.......plus, they act as a backup when his assistant calls in
sick.

You'll like much of what she says, but will definitely not like other
things. Overall I've found her to be a good source

Engineers in general tend to be pretty conservative. But that doesn't
make them flaming right-wing dumbasses.

There you go...and I am sure it would promote marital bliss in NOYB's
household...

Way back when, I worked for an ad agency run by a real genius of the
business, EXCEPT...he kept hiring gorgeous secretaries and then started
sleeping with them, and his wives kept finding out. Why? Because each of
his three wives (when I knew him) had worked at the agency as his
secretary.

I have a friend who married one of his patients. Years later, in casual
conversation he confided in her that he used to look down her blouse every
time she came in to have dental work done. Big mistake! She
automatically (and probably correctly so) assumed that he looked down the
shirts of all his attractive female patients.

OK, first, so what! If a woman wears a dress or shirt that leaves breast
and breast cleavage uncovered, they darn well better be realistic about the
fact that every male on this planet is going to look at the bared skin.
Again, so what!

Now the guy is a dufus for telling his wife the obvious when she was content
to move along her life path without thinking about it.

Harry, they just aren't bright enough to figure out that you meant the
mainland.

Harry,
Even Gould thinks you have lost all of your debates years ago. Why don't
you just move onto another venue where people don't know your lies. You
might be able to impress people in another group.

Fritz, Robbins, "Smithers," Jackoff and several other righties rarely post
anything on topic, and they engage in flames. I haven't noticed you
pulling them up by their short hairs.

You can go over to the corner and cry some more if it will make you feel
better Harry. Or, you can just cry right where you are now.
