Any Toyota truck includes Doug's, so it qualifies, right? Doug's
towing capacity is 3500 lbs (snicker), so when he hooks up to
Shortwave's boat, the game is all over. It can't safely tow the boat
and an ice chest full of fish home. Period.

Enter a Ford F150. It can hookup and tow both the boat and the tiny
Toy truck home with a 8500 lb towing capacity.


I know what I'm about to suggest is completely insane, but were you
interested in comparing similar models? A Ford F-150 cannot be compared to a
Toyota Tacoma.

But hey... the Toyota is not a bad vehicle... it will get the
groceries, pick up some ice and beer, make a pizza run... oh, you get
the idea. But if you need to do some real work, tow some real weight,
need a full sized truck, you'll need to look to Ford, GM, or Dodge for
your answer. The ricer trucks are getting close to matching the
capabilities of a standard American truck,. but can't come close to
the abilities af a F-250 or GM 2500 series.

You have to be a moron to own a vehicle capable of towing something you have
no intention of owning.


That's right. I have the 2005 Toyota trucks sales brocures right here
in my hands. The 4 cyl 2 wd Tacoma has the 3500 towing capacity. Go to
a 6 cyl and it bumps up to 5000.
Not enough?.... try the 4 wd optional pkg which jumps to 6500 lbs.
Still not enough for the macho crowd?...get a Tundra with a V8 that tops
out at 7300 lbs. i wouldn't trust any of you towing more than that.
