If Kerry/Edwards takes off in the polls, GWB may be faced with trying to mend
fences with McCain.

"Yes, John, I know I told all those terrible lies about you in 2000 and I know
that John Kerry is one of your best friends in the Senate, but can't we let
by-gones be by-gones and ignore friendship for the good of the party?"

As a Democrat, you better hope they run with Cheney. Certain other choices,
(such as McCain), would all but guarantee the Republicans another four years.

You haven't seen the clips of McCain slamming Bush? They aren't
delivered with any humor.

I expect Bush to dump Cheney, either just before the GOP convention or
right afterwards, so he can pick someone he feels is more palatable. I
wouldn't bet on it being McCain. But Colin Powell, sadly, has turned
into a Bush whore. He might take it.

I dunno, Chuck. The Republicans have a LOT of credibility problems on
the War against Iraq and on the Economy. The non-Kerry Democratic
interest groups are going to slam Bush et al over and over and over on
these...

Hehe. Yes, their altruistic nature has shone like a beacon of hope for

all
to see throughout their political life.

Bill already has helped raise millions for Kerry.

C'mon, Harry, you ought to be more sophisticated than that. Money, in

the
end, is just a tool, an enabler. If Bill and Hill want to undercut him
through subtle word or deed, millions raised in public will mean

nothing.

Again, this is a Republican wet dream. Bill and Hillary will do
everything they can to help elect Kerry and Edwards.

Indeed, money is an enabler. It was money, after all, that put Bush in
the White House.

Virtually all Democrats are united behind the Kerry-Edwards ticket, and
will do everything they can to make sure they are elected. That includes
the Clintons. The only Democrat I know who is voting for Bush is the
idiot known as California Bill,

Senator Zell Miller is another Dem voting for Bush...so now you know two.

Zell Miller is a Republican who claims to be a Democrat, nothing more.

So was Bill Clinton. His wife, OTH, is a socialist. She's the only reason
he didn't lean more to the right. I'm pretty apathetic in my opinion of
Bill. I *detest* Hillary. As much as I like to bag on Bill, he was pretty
willing to sign many conservative bills that came through the
Republican-controlled House and Senate...and he didn't try to force severe
tax and spending policies on Congress, thus keeping the GDP growth up and
the deficit down.

Hillary would have been a pure obstructionist if she were given more power.
Thankfully, she got slammed into her place early in Bill's first term when
she tried to create socialized medicine.

But Kerry remains a weak candidate.
Maybe you can get your buds at the DNC to send me a nostril-sized clothes pin
before election day. :-)

Proven disaster vs. potential disaster. Some choice.

This election will turn out to be a referendum on Bush's performance to date.
Some will prefer to stay with the devil they know, and others will vote for
change. Unless I learn something more about one guy or the other between now
and November, I'm going to need that clothes pin while rollin' the dice for
change.

Cheney is in deep, deep doo-doo from his months of lies, his
war-mongering, and his hallucinations about Saddam and Iraq, and even,
among the prissy, for his potty mouth. I think the August surprise may

Could very well be. If it happens, McCain, Powell, or Guiliani could
replace him. However, in a second Bush term, I expect Rumsfeld to leave,
Powell to slide to Sec of Defense, and Giuliani to replace Ashcroft.

Wow. I almost read too fast. I thought you were suggesting Guiliani as a VP
candidate. But, he'd never work. Way too smart, way too much of a straight
talker, and worst of all, he turned down a $10 million hush money
contribution from the Saudi royal family for the victims of 9/11. With an
attitude like that, there's no way Bush would want him in the oil business.
You see, Rudy understands where the 9/11 criminals came from.

Rudy is indeed a smart fella. Too bad he treated his first wife like ****.

Seems to have something in common with you and krause.

Your powers of delusion are overwhelming. Let me get this straight: Rudy's
relationship with his wife somehow sheds light on my relationship with MINE?
:-)

Chuckie....isn't there an AA chapter near you?
