There is nothing open to the public that I'm aware of. Anyone in law

Just on an outside chance... do you think any of these would be

considered a
good reason?

- Wonder how much he paid for it.
- Wonder if I can borrow it.
- Hey, I'd like to get that babe's phone number.

Buy the local Marine Warden a box of donuts
and a jug of coffee and meet at the dock when he
drops his rig in some morning?

Anyone know of a way to learn the owner of a boat online using the hull
registration number?

Many thanks!

I'm interested in this as well for a more nostalgic reason. I'd like
to find out if any of my father's old boats are still around. Assuming
that they haven't moved into another state, the registration number
should still be the same.

There is nothing that I've been able to find on the internet. But you
could try contacting the agency responsible for handling boat
registrations and see if they can help.

If the vessel is federally registered in Canada you can use:

http://www.tc.gc.ca/ShipRegistry/menu.asp?lang=e

I think the IMO has something similar (for all nationally registered
ships in IMO member countries), but I lost the URL and haven't been
able to track the page down again.

Thanks. Would that be the Dept of Motor Vehicles in each state?
