Default Don't buy anything from American Marine and Motorsports in Shawano , WI

WARNING:

Don't buy anything from American Marine and Motorsports in Shawano ,
Wisconsin.

I bought a boat that they promised to deliver in 5 days. When in fact they
knew they could not deliver it on time because the motor was backordered for
1 to 2 months. The day it was to be delivered, I called and asked what
time, they told me they would find out and call me back. They never called
back. I called a number of times, and was put on hold everytime and no one
ever answered. I finally talked to a manager and they told me they had no
idea when the motor would be available and it could be months. They cashed
my check immediately after I called about the delivery, so I could not put a
stop payment on the check. I'm still waiting for either my money back, or
to talk to someone about a different motor. But, no one will talk to me.

So, buyer beware.

One thing I learned is to get serial numbers from all the items involved in
a purchase of this type, that way you can verify the items are in stock.

Sounds like a good time to consult a lawyer. At least you'll know your
options.

Tomorrow is Saturday. Should be a busy day for a boat dealer. Stop a cop on
the street and tell him you're going to the dealership to spend the day
there YELLING REALLY LOUD ABOUT WHAT ASSHOLES THEY ARE. Tell him he might
want to follow you there to make sure nobody physically injures you. If the
dealer takes you to his bank for a cashier's check, maybe you will stop
YELLING REALLY LOUD IN FRONT OF ALL HIS CUSTOMERS.

Ya know this (or a minor variation) works. Several years
ago I was in a local car dealer (Patrick) haggling over a
car. It became obvious that we were not about to come to
agreement, so I politely told the salesman such, and asked
for my car keys back (the trade in evaluation), He changed
the subject, and we went back and forth for a minute or 2.
I became insistent, finally asking if he wanted a scene, and
yet again he avoided my question. I jumped up, overturned
the table, and shouted at the top of my voice that he ahd
the dealer were G.D. Thieves and that unless I had my keys
in 10 seconds, I was calling the police and reporting it
stolen/ I followed the salesman to the managers office
swearing all the way, and got my keys without incident.
This was also on a Saturday with a full showroom.

Sometimes it helps to make a little noise.
