Don't buy anything from American Marine and Motorsports in Shawano , WI
WARNING:
Don't buy anything from American Marine and Motorsports in Shawano , Wisconsin. I bought a boat that they promised to deliver in 5 days. When in fact they knew they could not deliver it on time because the motor was backordered for 1 to 2 months. The day it was to be delivered, I called and asked what time, they told me they would find out and call me back. They never called back. I called a number of times, and was put on hold everytime and no one ever answered. I finally talked to a manager and they told me they had no idea when the motor would be available and it could be months. They cashed my check immediately after I called about the delivery, so I could not put a stop payment on the check. I'm still waiting for either my money back, or to talk to someone about a different motor. But, no one will talk to me. So, buyer beware. One thing I learned is to get serial numbers from all the items involved in a purchase of this type, that way you can verify the items are in stock. CB |

Sounds like a good time to consult a lawyer. At least you'll know your options. |

Tell him he might want to follow you there to make sure nobody physically injures you. If the dealer takes you to his bank for a cashier's check, maybe you will stop YELLING REALLY LOUD IN FRONT OF ALL HIS CUSTOMERS. |

Ya know this (or a minor variation) works. Several years
ago I was in a local car dealer (Patrick) haggling over a car. It became obvious that we were not about to come to agreement, so I politely told the salesman such, and asked for my car keys back (the trade in evaluation), He changed the subject, and we went back and forth for a minute or 2. I became insistent, finally asking if he wanted a scene, and yet again he avoided my question. I jumped up, overturned the table, and shouted at the top of my voice that he ahd the dealer were G.D. Thieves and that unless I had my keys in 10 seconds, I was calling the police and reporting it stolen/ I followed the salesman to the managers office swearing all the way, and got my keys without incident. This was also on a Saturday with a full showroom. Sometimes it helps to make a little noise. Doug Kanter wrote: "Don White" wrote in message ... Sounds like a good time to consult a lawyer. I can see you have never had this happen to you.
I was at a chrysler dealership years ago where the Sales Manager kept my keys (which i dumbly gave up for the old "let us drive test your potential tradein to determine its value") on his credenza behind his desk. When the Sales Associate couldn't produce the keys when I told him I wasn't purchasing any car from them, I demanded to know where the keys were. Eventually he told me the Sales Manager had them. I immediately went to the Sales Managers office to get my keys when he expressed "tell us what it will take to get you to drive out of here tonight with a new car". I told him "give my my keys now or I am coming over your desk". He replied with "sir, I can see you are not serious about purchasing a new car tonight, what can we do to change your mind". I made a move towards his desk, and he immediately turned around and gave me my keys back. BELIEVE ME.....THIS CAN REALLY HAPPEN. In the mean time, they had some poor woman in the next office in tears using the same tactic. Sad...really sad. Being childish has nothing to do with these sales a**holes. They only understand aggression. If you are passive, they will eat you alive. "WaIIy" wrote in message ... On Sat, 19 Jun 2004 14:36:04 GMT, "Doug Kanter" wrote: "WaIIy" wrote in message .. . Well Wally, bast on your VAST business experience, what do you suggest. I see the following options 1) buy the car as the salesman demands 2) call the cops, and wait 3-4 hours until they get around to showing, at which point the salesman will explain that it was all a misunderstanding, and YOU were mistaken in bothering the cops. 3) take a cab home and forfeit your car to storage fees 4) drive their demo home and get arrested for theft. What is your suggestion given the situation as described -- where a "salesman, sales manager" refuses to return the keys to your car? You know the "professional approach" Remember that you're dealing with scum who are out to take your money and have already demonstrated their (lack of) class. |

Today was beautiful on the water, though it was very choppy for most of the morning. In fact, a lot of guys were headed in at 9:30 when we headed out. But it flattened out some right after noon. That's why you're such a putz. This is not a business situation, this is a criminal situation. Your car has been stolen. The law, ethics and common sense allow you to use reasonable force to get your property back. If I was on jury, a wouldn't convict in this situation, even if a punch or two were thrown (assuming the other tatics failed). You don't negotiate with terrorists. I suppose you think we should work it out with Al Qaeda. |

Wally - Vietnam 1969-1970 You still have not told us what YOU would've done if a car salesmen refused several requests to return your keys, big shot. |

Surely you've noticed that most of the righties here post with "handles" and faked email addresses, and hardly ever post any sort of real information about themselves, their lives, their families, their jobs, their goal, thoughts, aspirations, et cetera. They'll tell you they are "afraid" to do so, but I think they're embarrassed. They've got little or nothing going in their lives. Instead, they prefer to google their way through life, hoping to find bits and pieces in the posts of others they can pounce upon, in the hope that they'll appear to have lives and thoughts worth considering. Check it out. How much have most of the righties who post here really told you about themselves? |

Check it out. How much have most of the righties who post here really told you about themselves? I have posted pictures of my boats and have given detailed information about my boating experience and family. All of it was true. You, on the other hand, have posted nothing but lies about your life, including lies about the boats you own and your wife's education (among other things). So it seems like you are once again talking out of your ass. |
