Our adjuster totaled our roof and large entry gate. Also added the workshop
(12 X 20) roof although it had no damage and about 75 feet of privacy fence. Shortly after his visit we took off for a week to the P'cola Naval Base to enjoy the beach. Returned yesterday to find a settlement check in the PO Box for the full amount of the damage. The check is actually very slightly more than the estimates I have. The house is 12 years old. I sure recommend "Replacement Cost" coverage for a small premium increase. Not having to pay for depreciation on a 12 year old roof and fence is wonderful. BTW, the company is USAA. The premiums may be slightly higher than average but the service is probably the best available. YMMV, Butch |

Harry,
The dwelling and contents are insured at replacement cost value. We had no damage to the contents despite losing many shingles. The underlying felt kept the wtaer out despite very strong winds. Were your contents at replacement value, too, or were they depreciated? -- Debate Issue: Resolved, that the voters of the United States need a mechanism to remove an incompetent President from office. An alternative: write a letter to George W. Bush at the White House and ask him to resign immediately for the good of the country and its people. |
