I've lived my whole life here in DD country, and while we don't know much about Indians, we can recognize war talk when we hear it! Now, I admit that DD kinda lost their soul when they went to regional bakeries, but their coffee is still the most popular hereabouts. I noted Chuck's earlier comment about how good the KK coffee is -- you won't find much agreement on that in this area, but its unsurprising coming from a place that thinks Starbucks is the center of the universe. :-) There are a few places in eastern Mass where DD and KK are neighbors, and it was common for a while to see folks get their donuts at KK, then pull through the DD for coffee. It didn't take these cagey New Englanders long to figure out, though, that KK are just plain old donuts that are hot and overloaded with sugar, and the fact is that *any* donut is delish when warm, but only KK's turn inedible when cooled. Those of us old enough can remember buying donuts from DD still warm and coated with a *real* honey mix. Most of th KKs around here are in the death throes described elsewhere by Chuck. |

The warm part is true, which is why God invented microwaves. I live about half way between a DD and a KK, but very seldom go to the DD. Actually, I try to stay away from both of them! -- John H "All decisions are the result of binary thinking." |
