A bad case of tiller elbow

Our 15 yr old son has joined the local crew (rowing) team and although
its expensive, the idea is that it will get him exposed to some a
better group than he was in last year. As the crew practices on a lake
at a local park and I sometimes take him and we had good wind today,
thought it was a good day for a MiniCup sail. So, while he laboriously
rowed, I sailed back and forth. Only once did I ship water over the
sides but unlike Sean Penn I did not have my personal photographer so
you will just have to take my word for it.
When we had packed up and were driving away, my sone exclaimed how sore
he was all over so I said "I know what you mean, I have a bad case of
tiller elbow" He smiled instead of doing the usual teen sulk so maybe
all this is working.

What is it that makes you so impressed with movie actors? Just a
convenient target for you to play the "blame game" with?

You should be ashamed of yourself.

This is what ****es me off about the worshipers of the capital "R".
They are all throwing mud at a movie star, as if on cue. Like there's
instructions for all followers to act in unison.

That had nothing to do with your story, just was a typical mud slinging
episode.

Kind of hard to tell the difference these days. Maybe Penn is thinking of
running against Arnold?

I've never seen Sean Penn in anything except photo ops. Although most
hoolywood types do such things, I find to to be distatseful. My dig
was not at his politics but at the entire hollywood mentality of
getting publicity at any price.

Yeah, it's unimaginable that some folks could actually care, and give
a little back. Certainly it must all be self serving.

It appears to many of us to simply be a case of:

"Wow, people suffering, i bet I can get publicity from this",
otherwise, why the personal photographer?

Wouldnt it have made more sense for him to pay someone who actually
knows Search and Rescue to work? But, he wouldnt have gotten the
publicuty then, so it looks like a publicity stunt at the expense of
other peoples suffering.

Harry,
You need to learn how to read for content. Dbohara did not say he could
read Sean Penn's mind, he said since the photographer was taking up space
that could have been used for search or rescue specialist, or the space on
his boat could be used for someone rescued "it appears to be a publicity
stunt".

Since the photographer was making the pictures available to be published, it
does appear to be a publicity stunt.

In addition to your other talents, you're a mind reader?

Was that Sean's personal photographer, or one of the usual
photographers who's always tailing any celebrity? Didn't Bush have
photographers all over him? Was that a publicity stunt?

Wouldnt it have made more sense for him to pay someone who actually
knows Search and Rescue to work?

Do you know that he hasn't? There are people who will respond to
folks like Sean who wouldn't cooperate with the authorities. Here's a
good article about a guy who's been able to help people who wouldn't
otherwise accept assistance, it's a good read:

http://www.sptimes.com/2005/09/07/Wo...in_a_sil.shtml

This guy also had a photographer follow him around and I don't think
he's doing it for any personal gain.

But, he wouldnt have gotten the
publicuty then, so it looks like a publicity stunt at the expense of
other peoples suffering.

No matter what Sean, or Oprah, or anyone else in the same league do,
it get's lots of attention. That shouldn't preclude them from helping
if that's what they want to do, and have the ability to do.

Give the guy a break, he's trying to help.
