Glad to hear you had a great time. We love Cedar Point.....

Yup. Been there probably over a dozen times, but this visit was the first in
about 5 years.

when we had
bigger boats we would spend 2 or 3 days at the marina while the kids had a
blast in the park. Being able to get into the park an hour earlier than

the
general public was also a plus.

I didn't know you could get in an hour earlier! Wow, I sure will remember
that next time, thanks.

We love to go swimming in the Bay near Johnson's Island. We have even
anchored overnight in that area when conditions were right. You have to

be
pretty careful in the Bay as it is pretty shallow throughout.

We visited the Confederate Army Officers Cemetery on Johnson Island. First
time we were ever there. The 1812 and Civil war history of the area is very
interesting. Very rich indeed.

Speaking of rich, have you seen the new harbor cliff homes there?

Are you talking the Mineyahta portion being shallow, or the whole bay? The
main bay averaged 15-20'+ in open water by my sounder, but I do know you
have to be very careful when "close" to shore.

Check out Kelley's Island next time you are back up in the area and stop

at
the Village Pump for a basket of perch and a pitcher of their famous

Brandy
Alexander's. Plenty of guest docking available at SeaWay or the Unique
Marker (members only on weekends).

So noted. I have been to Kelly's in the past, but did not go this trip. If
memory serves me, that is where the glacier grooves are.

A nice marina on Put-in-Bay (South Bass) is the Crews Nest (again, members
only on weekends). We are planning to rent a house on the Island
overlooking the water next summer and trailer our boat up with us.

Lots of beautiful houses there. I love the "north coast" when thing get a
little windy. Watching that clean fresh water surf is somehow different than
the ocean's surf. I don't know, it just seems "purer" to me.

Take care.
