Default salt air electronics & computers

I do it to all my electronics (but don't live aboard...)

If you are skilled in electronics, or know someone who is, you can purchase
a product known as "Conformal coating", which is essentially liquid plastic.
You spray both sides of the PCBs, protecting certain components.

In 15 years I haven't had a failure, and some of that gear was old when I
got it.

Conformal also makes spray on chemicals and paste for connectors,
which might also benefit from incredibly messy and irritating
silicone grease.

Potting (dipping) electronics in melted beeswax or parrafin wax can
also help. At least for repairs wax can be melted off the board
with a hair dryer or soldering iron. Conformal is a bitch to dig
under or test through.
