Is it because our best assets are being wasted in Iraq? Is it because
we're stupid?

It ain't rocket science. It is three days after the hurricane, and
we're not doing any better for those in the most need than the
government of Bangladesh might do?

It took a long time to get to Homestead after Andrew too. (the other
guy was in the White House)
It just takes a long time to get these things going.

Any major grocery manufacturer could handle this in under 72 hours. Example:

Dinty Moore canned beef stew
12 24 oz cans per case.
1400 cases per truck
$32,200.00 per truck plus shipping.

From order to delivery, barring blizzards: 72 hours anywhere in the lower
48. Other groceries are similar, except for some frozen items. If supplies
aren't delivered to HOUSTON that quickly, it's because nobody has tried hard
enough. If this is the case, President Nookular should be stuck in the crowd
with the hungry so he can live with them until the right thing is done: Let
the grocery business handle it, and wire them the funds.

Have you seen what happens when the looters, armed with AK-47's, surround
one of the rescue vehicles ?

What kind of friggin' animal shoots at relief helicopters, national
guardsmen, and police officers?

I really don't understand why people like that haven't been gunned down
without any questions, warnings or conversations.

Because most of the NO cops have left the job, like the friggin' mayor! Why
hasn't the *Louisiana* National Guard been mobilized by the friggin' LA
governor?

Don't need to hear any Iraq crap either!

Actually, you *do* need to hear some Iraq crap, because we're getting
stretched pretty thin. But hey..better that they be overseas where they're
actually needed, right?

A **** poor excuse with no basis in fact. We are not hurting for National
Guardsmen to send to Louisiana, nor is Louisiana!

The governor asked for a "Berlin drop" of food and water. How stupid are the
leaders down there? Would 'dropping' a bunch of food and water in the water do
some good?

Yeah, right... the house is burning down and they DON'T NEED TO HEAR any
crap about the kid playing with matches.

Sure the local officials haven't done well, but where is FEMA? Where's
the "Dept of Homeland Security"? All that has happened is we have an
extra layer of gov't bureaucrats to blame each other and make excuses.
The policy of the Bush Administration has been to replace professional
administrators with yes-men & butt-kissers & ideologues chosen for their
personl loyalty to the Bush family... and now you want them to actually
*do* something? Ha!
