![]() "Bryan" wrote in message .. . Do I want a rearview mirror for my boat? It seems like a good idea to see the folks I'm towing while I'm watching traffic in front, but I don't see any boats with rearview mirrors. What's the scoop on this? Thanks Bryan Sea Ray 185 Get one that applies to the inside of your windshield with suction cups. When you don't need it, take it off. Even with a spotter it is a good tool to have when towing someone in a tube, on skis or a wakeboard. |

Thanks Bryan Sea Ray 185 "Doug Kanter" wrote in message ... It's just one more thing to get in the way of fishing poles and ropes, or to get broken when the boat's rocking and you think it's solid enough to grab onto. When towing people behind the boat, you really should have another person in the boat with you. I do have a spotter on the boat; it's the law here. I was thinking it would be easier to keep an eye on the kids when they are being dragged behind the boat on the tube (not the skis or wakeboard) so that I know how my steering is effecting their activity. It seems reasonable, but the absence of mirrors made me wonder; maybe everyone who tried one quit after breaking it as you suggest. Nobody has one. Nobody. If there are exceptions, they're silly. Ignore them. |

I don't intend to imply that my using the mirror replaces having a spotter. It doesn't. A spotter is another person who is responsible for watching the person in the water. I agree, where I like to water ski, there is ALWAYS people and I WILL NOT use just the mirror with other boaters around. But sometimes during the week in the big part of the lake before the waves kick up, I will ski with just my wife driving..... |

I have a convex metal mirror that attaches to the windshield top rim on my
Sea Ray. I use it in addition to the spotter so I can see some of the action. It is easily removeable when not towing a skier. It doesn't even interfere with my tight-fitting roof. -- Denis Roy D. I wouldn't go out w/out one. A good parabolic mirror is best. Like driving,
I want to know who is behind me whether I'm towing or not. To each his own. --Mike "Bryan" wrote in message .. . Do I want a rearview mirror for my boat?
