Default New to boating

I am new to boating and and in the market for a small (17-19)
bowrider/runabout for use on small lakes and the connecticut river. I
was wondering if anyone could suggest a good boat for a first time
boater that will last me for many years.....

A Bayliner. I've had mine (19' bowrider with the 3 liter, 135 HP I/O) for
eight years. The engine's economical and just keeps running. There's not
much that can go wrong with the boat. Oh, I guess I'll have to eventually
replace the steering and throttle controls. I have changed the light bulbs
in the bow and stern lights. I put over 600 hours on it last year, and over
400 already this year. You won't find another boat for the same price.

Look up Mellon Marine in South Windsor, CT and go to look their lines
over. They have some really nice Bayliners on sale - perfect for what
you are looking for and at a decent price.

Later,

Tom
