Default drive shower??????????

Ijust read a website for a drive shower. Supposedly it sprays water on the
upper unit of the out drive as you go along in the water. Any one ever use
one of these things? Are they worth the money?
If I get one its for a 05 alpha 1 3.0l
Thanks
Steve

Never heard of it. Is it supposed to keep it clean or what?

Oh.

When I read the ad, I wondered, "What tests?"

Tests have shown that cooling with a drive shower can double the outdrive life
and service life of the drive oil by lowering the operating temperature by a
minimum of 30%

They didn't cite the tests though. I've never felt the top of my outdrive, but I
can't imagine that it would get hot enough to need water splashing on it. I'll
check it out next time I'm out. Should be interesting.

Don't think you have enough horses to need one. They are common on hi power
engines in the 300+ range.

Take a look around at this link. Seems to be the original and comes higly
recommended to me. I'll be adding one to my Apha 1 Gen 2 shortly.

Last nite I hoosier engineered one with a rubber hose. IF it cools the
outdrive then I will consider purchasing one. I have read pretty much all
the ads and they all say the same thing " If you have white chalky build up
around your upper unit then its running too hot"
Well I guess mine is running hot .
Ill post my findings later today

I have seen one, there are suppose to keep the drive cooler. The one I
saw basically used the water pressure to place water on top of the drive
that is out of the water when the boat is on plane.

My understanding these wewre for high-powered racing type applications.
Thus it would not really benifit a Alpha drive. I would save your money.
