Default Aligning teleflex safety QC helm

Trying to align my steering wheel on a Safety -QC helm.

I have the directions but the way I mount my helm is different from the
instructions.
The direction for the initial position of the steering wheel in a
normal helm installation on a starboard mounted wheel with the cable
spigots facing the starboard and the cable is fed in through the bottom
spigotis to have the bottom spoke of the steering wheel in the 2:00
position.

My setup is as follows:

Helm mounted on the port side. Using a helm converter such that the
cable is fed in through the bottom spigot now which was originally the
exit hole for the excess cable as it is fed through the helm

The question I have is what orientation should the wheel be in?
Teleflex told me 10:00. I've tried this and after feeding the cable in
and setting up my outdrive such that it is centered when the wheel is
centered I am left with 1 turn of the wheel to the right until it hits
the wheel stop and almost 2 turns to the left before it hits the wheel
stop.

Thanks,
