You wouldn't have written it if you didn't think it. And therein lies the problem... You seem to see the world in black and white. Through a jaundiced eye. You don't see shades of grey. And that seems to define the Democratic Party today. I am a typical conservative. I don't agree with *everything* the Republican Party is pushing, but I agree with most. I don't agree with their stance on stem cem research, nor do I agree with their stance on abortion. I also don't necessarily fall in line with the liberal view on those issues. My views are somewhere in the middle. That's where *most* of the conservatives I know place their beliefs as well. What is moving even moderates away from the Democratic Party is your ultra-liberal, non-bending views. You guys are hanging yourselves, and don't seem to realize it. You and a number of your brethren on this NG are poster children for this sickness. The liberals are driving a wedge into this county, and don't seem to care. Statements like you'll "move away from this country if Bush is elected" (not made by you), and calling President Bush a "puppy" (your quote!) are helpful how? This is supposed to endear you to the majority of voters who voted for President Bush? Present a better candidate, and maybe you'll get some vote! But be aware that the American people are more perceptive than you think. I sometimes think that the two party system should be abolished, and candidates should be elected on their *views*, and not their party affiliations. But would that leave people like you anything to hang onto? The purple martins are swarming to the island in the middle of our lake, I have tons of work to get my workshop built, and a James Taylor concert to attend with wife and family this weekend, who are coming to visit for a couple of days. Debate yourself. |

I'd like to pants your president and toss him in the street, and I'd like about 10 minutes in a locked room with Rumsfeld, a baseball bat, a box of heavy duty lawn & leaf bags and some duct tape. But, I think some democrats and some NRA officials & members have their heads up their asses with regard to gun control. Go figure. I guess I'm not much of a party line guy. |

Why don't you send a personal invite to the Pentagon? I'm sure they'd be interested in giving you your chance in a locked room, with a baseball bat, a box of heavy duty lawn & leaf bags, and some duct tape...but I doubt that Rumsfeld will be there in Guantanamo with you. So you were pretty happy with Frist's maneuvering yesterday on the Senate floor when he invoked cloture on the base closure bill to begin debate on the gun-liability bill instead? |

Better to wait till he's a private citizen. He'd never show up, of course. But, I think some democrats and some NRA officials & members have their heads up their asses with regard to gun control. Too busy yesterday, no time for the news yet today. |

Every one in here knew I was pulling your leg, but you. I am certain your diminished capacity is the result of FAS and excessive drug abuse. Oh, not true. I called you a liar, and a fraud SEVERAL times, and each time, you denied it, Smithers. You went too far. THAT is when you started changing your usenet name, because you were being caught up in your lies. Now, just how are you "CERTAIN" that I suffer from FAS and excessive drug abuse. Be specific, or just admit to the group that you are ignorant, and don't know. |
